The report focuses on Li, a photographer who explores buildings that are derelict and empty. He is a member of a group called UrbanX who specialise in taking pictures in abandoned Lunatic Asylums, derelict government animal testing centres and decommissioned RAF bases.
These images show individual buildings in various states of disrepair. Clever detailing, close ups and low angles create interesting shots that help build a story to the building and show it's history. Although I find this style of image making intriguing and it does fit within the scope of this project, I feel that it concentrates to closely in on a singular building rather than an area of urban decay. However, the use of concentrating on detail and clue to the history of the building and what it was used for before it was abandoned.
Also, of particular interest is the first picture. The way that the ivy has started creeping back into the building, as though nature has started to reclaim the land. This holds water within the concept of this project, with regard to the city beginning to creep further out into countryside, whilst inner city derelict areas are starting to be reclaimed by nature.
